Dr A Moorthy is a consultant Rheumatologist and a Hon Senior Lecturer at a busy teaching hospital University Hospitals of Leicester NHS trust.
Dr Moorthy has got more than 18 years of clinical experience in Rheumatology. After qualifying in 1989, He underwent a structured postgraduate training in general Internal medicine for three years. Dr Moorthy undergone further specialty training in Rheumatology at various Teaching hospitals in Manchester, Wrightington, Northampton and Leicester.
Dr Moorthy is actively involved in Research and published his work in peer reviewed medical Journals. Dr Moorthy was an invited speaker at various rheumatology meetings nationally and Internationally. Dr Moorthy was invited to give a talk on Drugs used in Rheumatology and orthopedic surgery at European Rheumatology congress (EULAR) BERLIN. He was also invited to chair scientific sessions in national and international Rheumatology meetings in India, Berlin, and United Kingdom. Dr Moorthy is also undertaking multinational clinical research and Principal investigator for multiple NIHR studies.
Dr Moorthy research area includes Ethnic variation of Rheumatic diseases, Diet and arthritis, Pregnancy and Rheumatic diseases. The research works has been presented in national and international meeting and published in Peer Reviewed Medical Journal. Publication Education and Training:
Dr Moorthy enjoys teaching and training both under graduate and postgraduate medical students. He has been an examiner for Undergraduate examinations and post -graduate MRCP examinations conducted by Royal college of Physicians. Dr Moorthy was recently appointed as examination Board member at the Royal college of Physicians. He is also member of Educational and Training committee at British society for Rheumatology London.
